Born Biarella Targaryen and renamed Elrys at the age of 6, Venturer is one of the most travelled and personable iterations. In a twist from the usual procedure, her parents refused to turn her over to the priests for education and raising. Instead she was raised on ships by her parents who were explorers and traders and was given a hands-on education about the other cultures of the world. Her father had interactions with Corlys Valeryon of Westeros during his 9 voyages, which is part of what later sparks Elrys’ interest in visiting Westeros. She insisted to her parents she wanted to visit and given her status it was impossible to deny her. Her first visit to the kingdom of their long distant kinsmen was at first met with tense anxiety as communication between the two countries had never been good. But that tension was largely eased by the fact the visit was out of pure curiosity. Though unannounced guests, she and her family were welcomed to stay in the Red Keep on the request of King Viserys. There Elrys spent most of her time talking to the ailing king about history, Valyria, architecture, and basically nothing of interest to anyone but them. Before leaving Westeros Elrys toured the country on dragon back and complimented her distant cousins on their prosperous land, a tentative hope for some at the beginnings of better relations and a reason to be potentially concerned about invasion for others.

Neither came and after years with no real contact, Westeros put the Empire out of their mind once more. While they continued on as per usual, Elrys returned home and officially prepared to take up control of the Empire and then sat the Ruby Throne. Once established, Elrys sent word to the Targaryen’s of Kings Landing, out of a sense of decorum more than anything else. They were surprised to get back a message from the Hand which all but asked if Elrys would be amenable to supporting Aegon for the crown. Now curious what drama was going on in Westeros, Elrys positioned more people in the west of Essos, and a few informants in Westeros itself. There had been a few citizens of the Empire who had gone to Volantis to establish trade and Elrys used that as an excuse to use Volantis as an outpost, sending a branch family to set up shop there and many “servants” to “serve” them over time. If the Empire chose to stay out of Westerosi politics or there was nothing of real interest then this would all simply be useful building up of their trade network and/or groundwork for a take over of Volantis if they chose to do so. If they did choose to take advantage of the conflict in Westeros then with this foothold in the west they’d know about the unrest sooner and have people they could send immediately.

For Elrys everything is always about sensing which way the wind is blowing and seeding possibilities. Raised around all kinds and encouraged to socialize this Elrys has learned the power that can come from being someone people like to talk to and how useful personal drama can be. She’s also one of the more curious and open minded reincarnations, though still incredibly supremest and kind of a maniac. Elrys herself has no great attachment to either side in the Dance off the bat and while she has her own opinions about how succession should be handled (read: same guy over and over with a couple of seat warmers in between), sees no reason why their succession struggle should be her problem if she can’t get anything obvious out of it. At heart she is an opportunist, as well as an endlessly reincarnating evil wizard who would love to possibly take over their cousin’s stupid hustle from 100 years ago so how she reacts to the Dance is up in the air.

A warrior and a traveller Venturer is known for her quick wit and good nature and manipulation. She has a passion for music and history and enjoys deep discussion about fringe theories. Hasn’t yet fully taken over her place as Emperor as she doesn’t want to settle down yet but her word is still law. While personable and funny Venturer is fairly self-serving most of the time. It’s only when she comes to care for someone else deeply that she becomes amazingly selfless and loyal. Then she will put her own success, needs and desires after that of her loved ones and stand by them by even when she knows it will lead to her death.
